BSFG Review, Ecological, sustainable planning and development and Retro fits - is a new action group established following the BSFG Review and at present \has five members, with Peter Maddock acting convenor in the early stages.
Peter and Trish recently completed the Hume Community Power Hub Energy Efficiency Training course, which relates to Retro Fits. The BSFG general meeting on July 28 is the first opportunity for all the review groups to meet since the workshops. We are keen to hear reports on current information on the groups and actions they have taken so that we can represent them on the website. Bev Lee has incorporated some brief information on the website, but we would like to update this and perhaps end up with a page for each of the groups, https://www.bsfg.org.au/bsfg-review-2022.html. For our group, one thing written on the review workshop board was working with council. Recently I emailed Adam Saddler about progress with the reviews of the Environment Strategy and the Climate Adaptation Plan and a council emissions report. Adam replied that he was leaving BRC the following week and that Bronwyn Chapman and Nathan Gasperoni would now be the people to contact and work with. Nathan is the new Environmental Sustainability Officer. I have an appointment to meet Bronwyn and Nathan next Wednesday at 3.30pm. My approach at this stage is to see how our group might be able to work with council. I hopes to get some information about the reviews of the Environment and Climate Adaptation Strategies. What is on the website for our group now is, Ecological, Sustainable Planning and Development
Let me know if you have any thoughts about our group and what we could be working with on council. I have been reading up on Z-Net Hepburn and wonder if working towards Net Zero is something we could consider, https://hepburnznet.org.au/. The possibility of using Slack for communication is being considered. I think some of the other groups may be using Slack so hope we can confirm this next Thursday, https://slack.com/intl/en-au/. Peter Maddock
